Here's a just FYI for all of you Chip Shop lovers:
We decided to order out from the Chip Shop on Saturday night so we could try out their new curry menu. We placed our order at 8:30 p.m. and were told it could take ``a while.'' We expected an hour. We called at around 9:45 p.m. for an update and were told the order was with the deliveryman but they couldn't say when it would arrive. Lo and behold, the deliveryman showed up at 10:15 p.m. -- this on a night where it wasn't even raining! No doubt the place was busy, but I would have preferred if they would have leveled with us from the outset and said something like: ``Listen, we're totally swamped. It may take us about two hours to get you your order. Still want it?'' Just an observation, but it seems that restaurants that offer good food and service when you visit them, as the Chip Shop does, often seem to treat their customers who order by phone like second-class citizens. Is it our imagination? Any other observations about delivery waits are encouraged.
