Chio Pio visit

olga | Mar 30, 2004 08:27 AM

My bf and I went to Chio Pio on Saturday night, and it was very fun!
The place itself is very tiny and feels like somebody's kitchen. This feeling is enhanced by very nice waitress and the owner and everyone around drinking some brought in vodka.
We got a salad (with feta, olives, and some yummy basturma), two samsas, plov, and two lamb shashliks.
The salad was good and fresh, but the samsas were amazing! Very tasty with lots of lamb/onion filling and some sesame seeds on top. plov was good, but my parents' uzbeki friends make a little bit spicier tastier version. Lamb shashliks were very tender and tasty, and I wish we ordered more of them.
This plus two (unfortunately warm) bottles of water came up to $26 total.
I'm adding this to my list of favorite place on Brighton beach.
