Chinese Wok(Fresno)-Cheap, Fast, but Kung Pao needs Crunch!

Had to try this take-out place on North Blackstone after a recommendation on this board. The menu is pretty standard, so I went with a favorite. I had the Kung Pao chicken plate. A huge serving of food for under $5! There was the entree, side of steamed rice, and a side of pan fried noodles. A ton of food for a very small price.

I was very impressed that the sauce was not sweet at all! So many places in Fresno just cover all their dishes with a sickly sweet sauce that just doesn't work for me. This dish was not sweet at all, however it did lack the fire that Kung Pao chicken should have. The flavors were good, but I don't think the chicken was deep fried, so it lacked crunchiness.

Overall, my husband and I plan to go back soon and sample some other dishes to really get a feel for the place. We should probably try the Chinese Chicken Salad, which was the original recommendation. For under $5 a plate, we can afford to try many different items!
