Something I’ve noticed over the last several years, is that even the finest Chinese restaurants tend to have terrible beer selections. There seems to be no awareness among Chinese restaurateurs that there are a remarkable range of beer and ale possibilities and that these can greatly enhance their food offerings.
There have been some attempts to match Chinese food with beer and ale. See Serious Eats:

Garrett Oliver’s “The Brewmaster’s Table” is another source for matching food with beer.
But it always amazes me to find myself in an excellent Chinese restaurant that offers only garbage beer. Are there exceptions to this unfortunate rule?
