I'm in San Jose and rarely get to have dinner in SF, but I have a friend visiting from Scotland who would like to eat at a genuine (non-tourist type) restaurant in Chinatown. I was going to take her to Jai Yun but they are currently closed for remodeling (something I understand is sorely needed). So, where can I take her? Price is not much of an object but should not be too outrageous. I had estimated that Jai Yun would have cost $50-$60 a head, and I can live with that. I want absolutely top notch genuine Chinese, no particular region, somewhere that will not brush us off with tourist food.
I read the "Family of six report - R&G Lounge" thread, and that is exactly the type of place I want to avoid. Any ideas?
