chinese herbs

caren | Sep 20, 2001 11:53 AM

I went to David's Taiwanese restaurant in Elmhurst on Saturday. I am not too familiar with Taiwanese food. I was considering a dish with duck and Chinese herbs (spelled "herds" on the menu). The waitress discouraged me from ordering it because she presumed I would not like these herbs. She was pretty vehement about it. I am curious about this dish. Has anyone had it? Does anyone know what these herbs are?
I did have the stir-fried noodles with seafood (her suggestion) which were very light and delicious and an oyster pancake, which tasted good but had a gelatinous texture which took a little getting used to.
I would definitely go back, the menu intrigued me.
