Take out Chinese food in the Sunset

Yimster | Mar 16, 200308:02 PM

This last week I had time to waste in the upper Sunset and walk out and get some take dim sum and bakery goods.

On 9th and Irivng is a site for a lot of good stuff.

Sunset bakery on 9th had the sponge cake wrap in paper (.65 ea) and winter melon cake (old wife cake .80) both of which well done. A little more the Chinatown but if you do not have to go too far well worth it. They also had mini cake for about $5.00.

Wing Sing on Irving has great chicken buns for a buck I like it for the whole pieces of chicken, half a egg, nice pieces of lop chong and whole mushroom. They also had a full range of dim sum. They had a new item which is a fried chicken patty with a fried egg served on a hamburger bun also for a buck. McDonald lookout.

Accross the street is Peter Bakery. Which has both dim sum and Western bakery. The Limster and LET had breakfast there the last time they were in San Francisco. They serve jook for breakfast. I got some dim sum there at .40 each. They are large compare to many other places. The best thing there is a fake crab cream cheese fried won ton. Large pieces for the fake crab with a just enought cream cheese to hold it all together. These were 4 for a buck.

So if you are in the area you can get your Chinatown fix without going there.
