I'll be headed from SF to Vancouver next week (dinner Thu through lunch Sun) with wife, SIL and SIL's husband in tow. All (except me) are Shanghainese, but appreciate good Cantonese and other regional cuisines, too. I'm looking for recs from low to high end, from dumpling joints to lavish HK-style palaces, so long as the food is good. Also interested in opinions as to the best Shanghainese food in general, and xiaolong bao in particular, in Van. We'll be checking out Chinatown and Richmond TC, but will have a car.
