After eating at Minh Vietnamese for lunch yesterday in Arlington and then traveling up to Joe's Noodle House for dinner and being some what disappointed- some thing profound occurred to me---I suddenly realized, that in my opinion, Chinese food is inferior to Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese food. Most Chinese food found in DC and most places in America lacks the depth of flavor and fresh quality ingredients found in her Asian cousin's food-it seems liek most Chinese restaurants are buying from the same bad supplier.
It seems that Chinese food dominated the scene in the 80's and early 90's but has really taken a hit in the last 10 years due to the discovery of superior Asian cuisine.
On another Asian note, did any one see the special on Blue Fin Tuna on the Discovery channel the other day discussing the thinning population of blue fins and the Japanese fish market-fascinating.
