i dont mean to hi-jack your thread but the thread followers here seem to be a great crew to talk gf and i are moving from nyc to the detroit area in june. she's chinese. i'm not. between the two of us we've been eating chinese food in china, hk, flushing, manhattan etc our entire lives (30 yrs). we are worried we wont find the foods we eat on a daily basis. i've tried to come up with a list of places to eat for when we move but i'm not having much luck. all i'm aware of is midtown shangri-la. its pretty good? is the one in west bloomfield as good? are there other solid chinese restaurants? how about vietnamese, malaysian, japanese? from what i've read noble fish (sushi) seems good. i also just came the websites for asia city and golden harvest, those look pretty good as well. people have mentioned matsuchan (ramen). i hope you guys are willing to help me out with some info. thx.
