I bought a Schlemmertopf clay baker at the thrift store, and I was wondering if I could use it for Chinese clay pot recipes. The Schlemmertopf is not supposed to be used on the stove top, and from what I see from recipes, Chinese clay pots are made to be used on the stove. So, do you think most Chinese clay pot recipes could be adapted to the oven? I'm guessing that I may not be able to get a nice crust on the rice. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?
