Hi 'hounds - I wanted to report that I had a nice experience at the new Lucky Cafe (on Dot Ave, just south of Savin Hill Ave) over the weekend. It has some really interesting Chinese barbeque offerings (plus the standard American Chinese stuff). I got an order of roast duck and it was outstanding. The beef and broccoli (had to get an old standby in case the BBQ didn't work out!) was also good.
It's pretty much just takeout although there are a couple of tables. Very friendly family running the place - they answered a bunch of my questions (and those of some other customers coming in after me) and I really liked their recommended dish. I also love walking by all the roast chickens, ducks, ribs haning in the on-street window. It's cash only, most dishes are $5-9, whole roast birds are around $15. Serivce was pretty quick (about 10 minutes).
Anyway, I really enjoyed it and would love it if other 'hounds (especially those who know the cuisine well and / or are more adventuresome than I!) would give reports too.
