Get out your hankies because my story is sad. After living a wonderful year in New York where even the names of the restaurants were accurate (Excellent Dumpling House, in the early 90s at least, had excellent dumplings albeit nothing else of note), and a decade in various other places, I have settled in Boston. The Chinatown here looks like a Chinatown, even smells like a Chinatown, but it's one disappointment after another. Zagat's ratings in Boston are like Canadian dollars; to get a real sense, multiply by 0.7. It's a hard life.
So I'll be in New York for my birthday in a couple months and would like to invite 15 or so friends for Chinese food. Where should I do it?
