Chinese "bakeries" in Washington area

Arnie | Sep 18, 2005 08:34 PM

Recently moved here from Detroit area. Also ate in nearby Canada. There were stand-alone "Chinese bakeries" around the area. Sometimes near a Chinese restaurant or a Chinese neighborhood. These are not exactly typical American. Some of them do make birthday cakes, cookies & the like. But their specialty is the dimsun type of items: egg custard tarts, pork steamed buns, beef curry dumplings, moon cakes, etc. You could order one or two, or dozens of any item. Some had sit-down areas, all did take-out. I have looked on the Internet but don't see any listings that sound familiar. Can anyone help?
