Okay, I want replies from serious foodies! If someone were to ask me what my least favorite food is, I would say Chinese. And, I mean, New Orleans Chinese food! For me, it NEVER, tastes great. Sure, I can eat it if I'm hungry but never, ever do I feel like I have really had a great meal. It's always just bland except for the occasional crab rangoon which is so fattening that I usually stay away but I'll admit it's tasty.
Nevertheless, I met someone from China who agreed about the quality of Chinese food here but she did suggest some place on Williams Blvd. in Kenner that has truly, authentic Chinese food. I think if you walk in and are not Chinese, you have to tell them you want the real stuff. Does anyone know what it is called? Who has had really top notch Chinese and can rave about a certain dish? I want to know. A friend of mine always wants to have Chinese food and I always turn up my nose. I want to be able to say "yes" with conviction. Where should I go and what should I order that would be the closest thing to REAL food from China? Or, at the very least, an exceptionally delicious entree.
And, please don't say Trey Yuen or 5 Happiness because I've tried them enough to know that the food is nothing special.
