What a drag. I went for lunch yesterday w/ my cousin, really up for great China Village fare.

Village Special Seafood Noodle Soup--dishwater-y broth, noodles that had all the bite of Safeway brand, heat but no depth.

Village Special Lamb was also not very special--the cumin kind of sandy, no complexity.

Sesame flatbread came long after the rest of the food and was too yeasty and pale.

How to assess? A week-day lunch? The departure of the old chef? Just an off day?

Whatever the explanation, it didn't make me want to race back so fast for another go.
