My folks are in town this weekend and I'd like to take them to China Star. Has anyone been lately on a weekend and is it still insane due to the Washington Post effect? The crystal shrimp will make my mother very happy and my father will be in heaven over the little smelt.
Also, and I realize this is an odd question, but:
Has anyone ever noticed celery in any dish at China Star? Celery produces spectacular gastrointestinal results for one parent, and it keeps turning up in cuisines that should not be using it.
Or if James is reading this, any idea on how to explain that the grey-haired gentleman should never be allowed near cooked celery, celery seed, or anything else related to it? Bok Choy and relatives are not problems.
