I've managed to blackmail... er, convince my husband to take me to China Star next weekend in payment for services rendered. (I don't mind going to Joe's Noodle House or A&J solo, but Fairfax is a bit of a drive)
He's not an adventurous diner, and is reluctant to order anything that's not familiar. He had planned to order kung pao chicken, but I read Wayne Keyser's post here about his encounter with China Star's version. Sounds tasty to me, but my husband can only handle the usual heavily Americanized version. However, he has sworn to order something from the real CS menu, not the Americanized one.
Does anyone have a recommendation for one of CS's more mild Szechuan dishes? (garlic is fine, even in heavy doses) He's usually a "beef with broccoli" kind of guy. Yes, I married him anyway.
