This evening four of us (Roe, Jim Z, my partner and I) had an excellent dinner at China Star in Fairfax (9600-G Main Street, in the Fair City Mall). I was asked to order, and came up with the following:
Hot and Spicy Beef Tendon (cold appetizer)
Sour Mustard Fish
Chen Cang Beef
Dry-Sauteed String Beans
All of the dishes were very well received, particularly the fish and the Chen Cang beef (which is one of my all-time faves here, and one that I have not seen anywhere else; it is dry-cooked beef nuggets with cumin seasoning served with little buns that they call pancakes to eat them with).
The restaurant was hopping, though we were seated very quickly. Service was a big chaotic, but more or less efficient.
