We just came home from a very satisfying dinner at a new restaurant China De Puebla, located at 3143 Broadway (2 blocks south of 125th Street). It got a great write up in the NY Times, and since that time, it has gotten a liquor license and has a small but good and reasonably priced wine list. Food is a blend of Mexican with some Asian accents, sophisticated and subtle. There were three of us - we split everything - octopus cerviche, mussels in a light tomato broth and guacamole....all very tasty and well done, cerviche was fabulous, octopus very citrusy and incredibly tender! For main courses we had the chicken with black rice and plantains excellent - the striped bass with bok choy also very good - shrimp with udon, a bit heavy, but also tasty. The room is very lovely, good lighting, music level allowed for talking. Service personal and efficient. It is a very welcome addition the the Upper Upper West Side.
