These are always my two favorite things at Indian restaurants, and they've always been something of a litmus test for me--any restaurant that does them well probably does other things well, too.
So, I'm determined to find the best Chicken Tikka Masala in Manhattan. As long as it's on the island, I'll go anywhere. I've been to Indus Valley and Royal Kebab and Curry on the UWS, as well as a tiny Indian place on that block in the E. Village where there are a thousand Indian places.
I like my masala on the creamy side (how they do it at Darbar India in New Haven), and my naan I like thin, bubbly, buttery, fluffy, tender, and right out of the oven!
