Chicken Machboos is the national dish of Bahrain. I saw it being prepared for Andrew Zimmerman last night on one of his Travel Channel shows. They said there are many variations of this recipe. I want to try to make it but I lack some of the ingredients, mainly the spice blend baharat and the boiled sun dried limes, loomi. Does anyone have a good recipe that uses commonly available (in the USA) ingredients for this dish? I think I have most, if not all, of the spices that comprise baharat, just need approximate proportions. Thanks!
