In what was a departure from my usual dining habits. I popped in to Po' Melvin's in Southlake (355 N. Carroll Ave., 817-481-8101) for some "home style" cookin' last night. Turns out, the food wasn't so bad--at least what I had wasn't.
Chicken fried chicken was moist, non-greasy, and cheap! It came with really good mashed potatoes and two sides (green beans and fried okra) that weren't worth the money I didn't pay for them (they came with the chicken). With dinner rolls (again, they come with the meal), the whole thing came to around 8 bucks!
I'll definately go back for the CFC, but may try different sides. Where else can one get really good CFC in town?
