It's my turn to make the matzoh balls. Usually I make them with canola oil, but I'd like to make them with schmaltz, or at least half schmaltz.
I rendered the fat from two chickens this morning, but it'll take me a while to accumulate enough if I take this bird by bird. Does anyone know a place to buy chicken fat in the south bay or on the peninsula? Is there an actual live poultry market anywhere (I'm giving away my age here)?
