Chicagoan in Milwaukee-reviews Celia

littlechi | Jun 1, 200411:03 AM

Thanks to those who posted in response to my request for a place to eat in Milwaukee on Friday. We went to Celia, in the Pfister Hotel. Atmosphere was not as modern as the food. The food was very good. The service was not as good as the prices they charged. We had the lobster shell steak appetizer - excellent, celia house salad, and a halibut entree and a lamb chop. Both were very good. The server assisted with wine selection, his description was off. The somelier came by later and nailed the description. Where was she at the beginning? The server kept getting between my husband and I while we were holding hands, instead of going around to the other side. He was very intrusive the entire time. Total was about $150 including tip and a bottle of wine.

In short, if you want great food and don't care about atmosphere or service, Celia is the place to go.
