Chicago. Someplace nice but not overly fussy near Peninsula Hotel.

Would love to walk to an early dinner tomorrow from The Peninsula. Looks like Spiaggia is the place to go but deardiscerninghusband likes his pasta mom and pops-ish (and gluten free so no pizza joints for us) (and he prefers quiet-ish restaurants. (Did I mention that he is discerning?) He won't do the Shanghai Terrace at Peninsula because his wallet is still bruised from Wing Lei in Las Vegas which he termed as Panda Express on fancy plates.

I thought we could compromise with a steakhouse but Michael Jordan does not excite since we often go to the one in GCT in NYC and I dunno is Lawry's still a thing? There's a place called Rosebud but recent reviews are not compelling. We have Mexican all the time in CA so not looking for that. Anything kind of iconically Chicago to recommend? Willing to walk up to a mile or so in any direction. And we would consider a cab ride, just have a commitment later in the evening so can't be too far-flung.

Oh, and along with all the other caveats, a view would be nice - city or lake.

Cafe Spiaggia,
Shanghai Terrace,
Lawry's The Prime Rib,
Michael Jordan's Steak House Chicago
