I've been coming to Memphis ever since I was in diapers and this food still excites me every time I eat it.
Memphis is a disproportionately good chow town for its size. The Rendezvous, Interstate, Gus's, the Cozy Corner, Huey's, DBo's wings, Gibson's Donuts?
Even the Waffle House, which is good all over the South, seems to taste better in Memphis. Sheridan's Frozen Custard, however, was good, though not up to the standard of Scooter's in Chicago (1658 W. Belmont). Oh, well. Not all things from Kansas City can be as good as Arthur Bryant's.
