Chez Thuy in Avondale

Hungry Celeste | Jun 4, 200301:08 PM

Chez Thuy, recently opened in Avondale (corner of Hwy 90 and Jamie Blvd), serves seafood, chinese, and poboys,'s a vietnamese restaurant in disguise. The original Chez Thuy is located in Boulder, CO--this branch is owned/operated by the same family (see link below to a review of the Boulder Chez Thuy).

I'd driven by this place often and finally stopped in yesterday. The menu is a mishmash of chinese, thai, and other asian, with a sprinkling of vietnamese dishes (including cafe sua da and that wonderful lime soda). I had shrimp spring rolls and pho ga--both were excellent--and a long talk with the proprietors, who are under the impression that vietnamese food can't succeed in their neighborhood. So, if you're looking for an interesting asian option in the wilds of West Jefferson, try them out. And, be sure to ask if they're featuring any off-menu specialties.
