I would like to make a cherry pie. A woman at work told me I have to use sour cherries, and that they are hard to find. Is this true? I just drove to Fairway (I live on Long Island) and could not find any sour cherries - either fresh or frozen. I did find them packed in water in a jar. Are the jarred ones ok to use? Where could i get fresh or frozen ones on Long Island (Trader Joes, Whole Foods, and Kings are all close to me)?
Any recipes would also be appreciated.
