Chef's Tables

LazySusan | Jul 21, 200411:25 AM

We are planning a trip to New Orleans in October right around my birthday, and were hoping to be able to book the Chef's table at Commander's Palace. Unfortunately, they were booked through mid-December.

(As an alternative, my boyfriend has a friend who supposedly has an "in" at Emeril's so we will probably go there.) We are fortunate enough to be staying in NO for eight days, so we have time for quite a number of possibilities, and I'm very excited about it.

I was wondering whether there were other restaurants in NO that have a chef's table or something similar? And if so, can you simply call up and request them? Any thoughts on recommendations on this?

I also noticed there is a service on the net called "Chef's Table Tours" that claims to book exclusive seating at various NO restaurants. I have serious doubts about that as it sounds like a tourist trap. Does anyone know anything about this?
