Chef Che’s Argentine Cuisine Truck (LA)

Melanie Wong | Sep 30, 201105:31 PM

After Art in the Streets last month, a stop at Chef Che's Argentine Cuisine truck parked outside the exhibit seemed apropos for a quick snack.

Since we were on our way to Langer’s for lunch, I only ordered one item, “El Che”, the empanada filled with ground beef, raisins, egg, bits of salty olives, and savory vegetables. Blazing hot and obviously freshly made, I was two blocks away before it had cooled down enough to take a bite. Well-bubbled, not greasy, light and crispy pastry filled with pleasantly seasoned picadillo . . . this hand pie was tasty enough on its own without the chimichurri. But do give it a dunk, the chimichurri adds a bit of well-behaved spice.

Not a destination, but worth a stop if you spot Chef Che’s truck.
