cheeses - raw milk and others

On a whim last night I picked up a small piece of a Spanish raw goat milk cheese (forget the name) at Whole Foods in Evanston. It wasn't marked with anything other than the price (so I didn't get to see the manufacturer's info) and I assume that it was one of these "aged for more than X days" kind of cheese that is legal to sell in the US - the counter was not attended so there wasn't anyone I could ask.

It was VERY good, particularly tasty with the not-terribly-old burgundy we drank with it (don't remember the name, hubby got it on sale at Knightsbridge just off Dundee Rd).

I've liked other Spanish cheeses I've had, there's a sheeps milk one that I really like (not sure if that one is a raw milk cheese).

Are there any other places I should be checking out to find more good cheeses? Is Whole Foods one of the better places for cheese? I tend to avoid Sam's Wine due to congestion in that North/Clyborn area, is their cheese selection worth braving the crowds?
