On Monday, I was foiled. I would NOT be defeated today (and I wasn't, despite some a$$hole drivers on the 101, as usual).

What a lovely place. The owners are super-friendly and (not surprisingly) very passionate and knowledgeable about their products. I think the charcuterie selections were nearly equal to the cheese selections. My impression is that their cheese selection is less varied than, say, Andrew's in terms of absolute number. Very generous w/ the samples. I purchased a lightly aged gouda, a stilton, and, um, a think a french cheese that had been washed in red wine?

They have 3 daily sandwiches. Mine was the roast beef + blue cheese. I think the blue cheese overpowered the roast beef (which was very tender and delicate but not particularly strong in flavor on its own), which was fine since I like blue cheese. Sandwiches are pre-made and pre-wrapped. Bread could've been crustier, but I have no real complaints for the $8 it cost. There's communal seating in the back.

I'm much closer (geographically) to Andrew's, so I'll still probably go there for my "special-occasion" cheeses. If I lived closer to Cheesemongers, though, it'd be a no-brainer.
