The cheesecake from S & S was as good as anything I've ever had in D.C. It was a classic NY style cake w/ no crust to speak of and the appropriate 'heavyness' that I love. They say you can freeze and re-freeze for up to 6 months, but of course it didn't last that long.
A 5lb cake was $52.00 overnite (in cooler months, they'll ship 2nd day for $42.00 ($32.00 for the 2lb cake + $10 for next day).
The distributors are Morey and Dorey and they don't accept credit cards. They'll trust you to send a check, or, as Morey said "Nunzio will come and see you." Morey was fun to speak with.
This is the same cake they serve in Morton's of Chicago, but it's been years since I've had dessert there.
I'll definitely be ordering again, esp. when it's a little cooler and I can get the 5lb'er for $42.00 and I recommend it with no hesitation.
