Cheesecake factory

Just went to the Cheesecake factory for the first time. I live in Gainesville, FL and everyone raves about their cheesecake. Before that I lived in New York City and didn't even know it existed. So this is like, 10 years I've been thinking about their cheesecake. I even went online and the different flavors sound entrancing.

So, I'm visiting in Palm Springs, CA, and I went there with a friend, and boy did I just wasted $16.00!

I make a killer cheesecake, really I'm the best at it, and this not only didn't come close to mine, it didn't even come close to the ones I get at the frozen food section at the grocery store. I had the lemon raspberry cheesecake, and my friend had the pineapple upside down, which was slightly better. The whip cream on the side wasn't real, like at Starbucks (no matter what else you say about Starbucks their whip cream is real, and they'll give you all you want, and I mean all you want-I've order Venti cups of it on the side-for free), and it actually tasted like it had gelatin in it. For me, gelatin is cheating.

The place was gorgeous, but that's about all I can say. Oh, and my server as really nice. Oh, and I liked the idea of having a cake layer as the base instead of cookie crumbs.

Then I came to Chowhound and saw if I'd read a few reviews beforehand, I could have saved some money.

Oh well, them's the breaks...
