After many, many years of living in USA and Europe and hundreds of transactions l've come to believe something l cannot explain, maybe someone can help.
Granted this may be a generality but happened so many times probably not.
When l buy a specific wine in France and the exact same bottle in USA almost always the US price will be lower, even taking our sales tax into consideration.
Just recently A360P from Ostertag was 55 euros here in Paris and was bought for 30 at Woodland hills liquor. l can give you many more but so noticable that when l come here l bring 6-12 french wines to Paris with me.
Ok, now for cheese. l buy cheeses here retail for so much less than the wholesale prices in US you might not believe me.
Just bought Marcel Petite 36 month comte for 32 euros/kg or @ $16 lb.
Murrary's lists the 24 month , far less expensive, for $35 lb.
Anyone have a clue as to why ?
