Cheese for baked ziti

I'd like to make a 13 by 9 inch pan of baked ziti.
When I've made it before ,using a pound box of ziti,
I can't seem to get the amount of cheese to use
right. I have used a 2 pound container and it
seems to be not cheesey enough . Is it better to use
some other cheeses as well...if so what type?
