Chedd's Grilled Cheese in Denver

Over the Christmas holiday family & I were in Denver & ate (twice) at Chedd's Gourmet Grilled Cheese near downtown. Saw this place displayed on a Food Network program a couple of years ago & knew we had to go here once we got to Denver. Since we ate there twice you can probably tell we enjoyed it; we were not disappointed.

They have over 35 cheeses on tap & a number of different breads. You can order one of their creations (they have 36 on the menu at $6.25 a piece & other specials at the restaurant) or you can create your own concoction. The sandwiches are grilled nice & flat & hot & crispy. They also have a couple of soups (I suspect a version of tomato soup is mandatory) & some sausage sandwiches.

I tried the BCT (bacon, cheddar, spinach & tomato) which was good but was really more like a bacon sandwich with cheese (which is definitely not bad but is not really a grilled cheese sandwich). One of our favorites was a Wild Garden (pesto jack, wild morel & leek jack, mushrooms, pesto & ranch dressing). The Meatless Horse (horseradish havarti, chipotle cheddar, banana peppers, green peppers, etc.) was good & spicy, as was the Hot Gobbler (habanero jack, turkey, banana peppers, jalapenos & onion). From this short list you can get an idea of the selection they have available.

They have a second location in Littleton (southwest Denver) though we didn't visit that location. They may have a couple of different sandwiches there than the downtown location.
