2900 block of Elston. Have you been? Certainly worth checking out...spontaneously went to n~ (that tilde should be on top) last night around 10p since most local options were out of the question. I understand n~ is somehow connected with Tango Sur. The place is small and it's got a fun and funky bar atmosphere.
I ordered up the mixto - which was 2 empanadas and a breaded beef cutlet cut up. The empanadas were excellent, the chimichurri very good and garlicky. Very generous portion (I should have shared) and a great value for $6. My companion had the pollo - a breaded chicken sandwich with a load of fries and chimichurri sauce on the side. I think it might have had some garlicky spread on it, but a downright tasty feast for $8.
And the drinks! My oh my - don't miss the mojito. It's one of the best I've had north of the border. I like my mojito with loads of lime juice and mint moreso than booze, soda & sugar, and these were spot on and refreshing.
Lastly - and I know this is a foodie discussion - but the live music on Tuesday nights (I think I heard the group plays every Tues) was fantastic. Around 10:30 or so people started filing in to get their groove on -so on top of that, great people watching too.
Go - enjoy!
