Cheap Sushi-FLL-Tokyo Bowl

Shirley U. Jest | Aug 2, 200509:23 PM

Hey all, at the suggestion of this another Chowhound, the kid and I tried Tokyo Bowl at 1720 S. Federal Hwy, FLL, nearly at the corner of 17th Street Causeway, north side of the street.

First of all, we were surprised at how crowded it was. We took a seat at the bar, and I ordered a small hot sake, $3.00. We looked over the menu, and tried to decide whether to do the All You Can Eat Sushi, or order off any of the 3 menu's. Son chose the ALL You Can Eat, with the stipulation, that he couldn't leave any "rice balls" on his plate, or he would be charged 40 cents for every ball.

I ordered the tuna tartaki. The AYCE sushi came with soup or salad. He chose the soup, but couldn't finish it. The sushi was so fresh, it nearly jumped off his plate. My tuna tartaki was out of this world. We talked to the chef, and he told us that he serves 500 dishes per day.. So, none of his fish is lying around getting stale.

The food was excellent, the prices were good, and the manager was very nice. He gave us both a piece of tempura cheesecake, that melted in our mouth.

I highly recommend this joint for cheap, FRESH, GOOD sushi. It really doesn't get any better than this!

Whoever recommended it, I bow to you!
