The husband and I are descending upon San Francisco for eight days starting Labor Day weekend. It'll be the first visit for both of us--Mr. Mandalay lived in SoCal for a couple years but never made it up north and I've never been west of Texas. We are much more Roadfood than haute cuisine, and while I've been doing research I figured I'd give a shout-out to Bay Area chowhounds to help us out in finding some cheap good eats. I've been told many times about burritos in the Mission district and we'll probably try In-N-Out since everyone I know raves about it, but what are your suggestions? We're particularly interested in breakfast places, seafood, and Japanese (not sushi, but anything else). We'll be staying in Union Square (which I suspect is chain hell). Thanks in advance!
