Managed to grab two stone pot bibimpabs with a friend at ChoCho's in the Porter Exchange Mall during the snow storm on Monday. Overeasy egg on top, 7 types of vegetables, well flavored - if slightly stringy -griddled beef and a warming but slightly sweet sauce. Thought is was just as good as the one I had recently at WuChon house and much less greasy than Kaya's and Seoul Food's. Friend had edamame to start that were fine and I had a side of red & white kimchee that hit the spot. Their hot & sour soup, beforewarned, tastes like a bowl of vegetable soup dumped into a bowl of hot & sour soup. Not that it wasn't pleasing, it was just surprising.
For $12 at Tacos Lupita, a friend and I had: freshly fried tortilla chips (they fried them up fresh for us!); a side of average, but homemade, guacamole; a pork & cheese pupusa; and two tortas: one carne asada and one al pastor. Both sandwiches were great, but I'd give the edge to the steak for pure flavor.
