[Chattanooga] City Cafe Diner

Harters | Oct 3, 201301:59 AM

We ate two meals here. Lunch on the day we arrived and breakfast the next morning. We were staying at the adjacent Days Inn. The diner is open 24/7 and served up big plates of food at lunch. We both ordered sandwiches. One, a chicken sandwich saw two breasts sliced horizontally on the bun. The other, an eggplant parmigiana. They came with coleslaw, a pickle and a choice of side. So, that was a potato salad on one and fries on the other. Good unfussy food but overwhelming portions sizes which lessened the enjoyment somewhat.

Breakfast offerings cover all the usuals. I wish I had the appetite for their “special” – 3 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 pancakes, with home fries or grits. But I didn’t.
