Let's chat about Jersey City

So, i take the holland tunnel into manhattan every evening. Recently, i started traveling with my wife. Now that i have a partner, we have decided to try a place n jersey once a week for dinner. Yesterday, we found ourselves having to be in Jerz with, time to kill.. I remember seeing a sign for Zeppelin Beer Hall from the turnpike so, this is where we ended up..

I was shocked at how huge the place was.. We had a few beers and some food.. I had the Nurenberg Sausage on a Pretzel Roll while my wife had a pretzel.. The food was pretty tasty, i enjoyed the char on the sausage, fries were good, and they offered a couple of really nice mustards with the pretzels..

Anyway, this was my first time in Jersey City, it reminded me sort of kind of something close to the Brooklyn Neighborhood where i live.

When we pulled off the turnpike, we were on Newark Ave.. This reminded me of jackson heights. There was Indian Restaurant after Indian Restaurant, there were Saree Shops and Dessert Shops.. Looked like there was some really nice Indian Spots.

As we traveled down Newark we passed a few Filipino Restaurants.. Some place called Max's I believe, there were a few others that escape me now.

I know Nancy Sinatra was born in Jersey City so, i am assuming there is going to be some old school italian Spots.. Any suggestions for old school red sauce places would be much appreciated.

Like any city, there has to be little enclaves within it.. I would like to eat in those places...

So, if anyone can suggest, Italian, Indian, and Filipino places to start or any other can't miss places, i would be very appreciative.
