Charlie's on Harrison Ave.

Dee | Jul 5, 2003 05:24 PM

After seeing a repeat Emeril show on his favorite places to eat in different cities including N.O., decided to try Charlie's on Harrison Ave. today for lunch. We got a roast beef po'boy and a shrimp (Emeril's favorite) and shared them. Sorry to say we were a bit disappointed. The roast beef was way too salty with very watery gravy and the shrimp were barely warm, as though they were sitting under a heat lamp. The price for the size was the only good thing about the place, rather small po'boys (which is fine - because I can't finish the larger ones) $4.50 for the roast beef and $5.50 for the shrimp. Service was pleasant but a little slow considering there were only two tables occupied.
