Charlie Trotter Review

Food Guy 905 | Sep 12, 200510:06 AM     4

It was with great anticipation that my two guests and I went to Charlie Trotters this past Friday night and I quite frankly didnt get what the hype was about.I have had the oppurtunity to eat at some of the best restaurants in the world and left Trotters some what puzzeled.Of the last ten tasting menus I have had, I would rate our meal somewhere in the middle. The food in general lacked the wow factor we we were expecting.Compared to my last tasting menu at Susurs In Toronto,Trotters didnt even come close.Jackets are required for gentlemeen.Parkas should be required for the ladies. Most gals in the upper level of the restaurant were freezing.Three female guests were wearing thier dining companions jackets. One gal resorted to wearing a napkin on her shoulders to keep the cold at bay. Sorry this is unacceptable. Our servers were unable to resolve this situation.
The highlight of the meal was the wine selection chosen
to accompany each dish. Outstanding choices indeed!
My dining companions and I all agreed that Trotters requires another visit and wasnt worth the $1000.00 tab
