We just came back from a long weekend in Charleston.

Best eats:

'Flight of all cheeses' at McCrady's bar was by far the best cheese plate we've had in the States, second only to La Ferme St. Hubert in Paris. Nice portions (more than enough for 2) of 12 cheeses, with bread, fruit, and nuts. A bargain at $20. I especially like that they give you the list of the cheeses with descriptions. I compared the list against the Cheese Primer, and all are excellent choices, one even 'rare even in Italy outside of it's home region.'

Best meal was breakfast at Hominy Grill. Great shrimp and grits. Even the iced tea was especially good.

We also had good breakfasts at Joseph's (sweet potato pancakes were a standout) and Diana's, and great big pie and cake at Cafe Cafe. A big Thank You to, where we got many of our recommendations.
