Charge discrepancy

JJ | Feb 25, 2004 03:51 PM

So I went to a nice establishment a couple Friday nights ago and had a very good dinner for two. The bill came out to $90.26, and since our waitress was very attentive and professional, I added a $17.74 tip to make it an even $108.

I got my credit card statement yesterday and noticed that the charge was for $108.26. I know we're only talking nickels and dimes here, but is it common practice for them to round up the tip on the bill? I don't have a problem paying for a good experience, but I do have a problem with someone going ahead and changing the amount I write down.
