Chaia, Vegetarian Tacos in Georgetown

Steve | Dec 25, 201711:13 AM

Chaia offers a nice respite from shopping tucked away on quiet Grace St below M off Wisconsin Ave. They have a menu of about six tacos drawn from a larger list of twenty, some seasonal, but only six verieties are made on any one day. Two of those, a mushroom taco and a kale-potato taco, are there just about every day. All of the varieties seme to have cheese, so they are not vegan unless you omit it, though they probalby won't taste as good.

I treid the kale-potato which is made with a kale crema, and it was outstanding. One of the best tacos I've had in recent memory, and the tortiilla tasted like it was made with nixtamalized corn, though I didn't ask. The potato was not just a filler; the thin slices with skin had a gorgeous roasted flavor.

I will go back.
