Chaat in Los gatos

Amit | Nov 24, 200310:43 PM

First time contributor, long time chowhound. Had to give a heads up about food from the Indian sub-continent. Chaat cafe opened up at 133 N. Santa Cruz up the street from Round table early this month and is already becoming a hit. The Seating area is smaller than that of the SF and Berk outposts(the only two I've been to) but the food is just as good. Awesome Tikka masala which perfectly blends the smoky tandoori flavor with the creamy curry-ish sauce. Terrific Naan, much better than the rice which tends to get dry and hard, probably from sitting in a steam tray for too long. The samosas are the best in the bay area, with the sweet sweet chutney... mmmm. Unfortunetly no strwaberry lassi at this location.

These seem to be popping up everywhere, anyone know if they are all owned by the same people or is it a franchise deal, they have a link for franchise info on the website, but when asked, the employees seem to be out of the loop. Either way, fantastic concept, the more the merrier!
